I upgraded to version 3.1 using pro version 3.1. After the upgrade I can't connect to my controller any longer. I get a message that states unable to connect to director at the ip address of the ea3. I saw on a previous thread for 3.0 that the certificate needs to be replaced. Does this mean I need to SSH in and replace the ca.cert.perm file on the controller as suggested elsewhere?
If I try to patch the director using the pro and patching steps it tells me it can't connect to the Ea3 controller just like the pro software. So I am assuming it is the director patch that is the issue and that I need to SSH in to replace the ca.cert.perm file. Is this correct?

I've successfully upgraded from 2.10 to 3.0 and now 3.1. Everything is working fine except for the controller registration. I've already read the definitive-install-guide (very good BTW). I'm wondering if someone managed to connect to the controller using composer 2.5.3 without the factory reset. Anyone?
I've tried to do it, but it fails with the 'cannot connect to the non-secure port' error. Also, I'm using an EA-5. Will I be able to connect to it using Composer Pro 2.5.3 after a factory reset? I think EA's base OS version is 2.8 or higher. Am I wrong?

you have to run the special 2.5.3 composer not just the patched meekah one from the standard installer. I was able to go from 2.10.6 to 3.0 to 3.1 just fine and also had the annual certificate expiration occur during this.
